Nikki and Ann have chosen The Anglesey Showground as the venue for The Internationwool Festival, Anglesey 2019; best known for being the location of the Anglesey Country Show.
The showground is a very large and versatile space.
With a selection of purpose-built pavilions as well as flat, well-drained ground for marquees, camping and general footfall, this makes it perfect for our needs.
Many events use the showground throughout the year, from animal shows to vintage rallies, and antiques fairs to caravan club meetings. Because of this, it is the most well-adapted venue in North Wales for the variety of facilities that we want.
The flexibility of the Anglesey Showground…
…means that we can expand as needed, and have a layout that accommodates the stall holders, food vendors, marquees, evening entertainments, car parking and camping and glamping villages all in one place.
We plan on using the two large pavilions as the main hub of the show, with marquees, food halls and camping villages all centered around them, keeping the nucleus of the show easily navigable.
Visitors with mobility problems or requiring wheelchairs will find the showground suitably flat and almost entirely accessible, bar a couple of upstairs rooms which will not be for general public use. We will be ensuring that mobility vehicles will be available on site for those who need them. Pre-booking may be required.
Visitors can reach the showground easily by car via the A55, which is only a 2 hours from Manchester.
The closest airports are Manchester and Liverpool, the closest ferry terminal is Holyhead, and the closest railway stations are Bodorgan, Ty Croes and Rhosneigr, and there is a bus stop right outside the showground serviced by the 4B, 4R, 4X, 45, 544 and X4 services.
The address is: Anglesey Show Ground, Mona, Holyhead, Anglesey, LL65 4RW.
